Notes that to date there has been little information available on the application and performance of air curtain devices, which means they are not used as widely or effectively as they might be. In order to rectify this, presents the results of research to assess the performance characteristics of air curtains in commercial applications. 

The research included study of building leakage, doorway dimensions and device supply and return sizes. This has been achieved through a combination of site investigation, physical measurements and numerical (computational fluid dynamics) modelling techniques.
